Mackenzie Leather at Dressed to Kilt: Celebrating Scottish Craftmanship
The date is finally set for the largest catwalk event dedicated to Scotland’s fashion industry. Join us as we prepare to send Mackenzie flying across the Atlantic, and down a different kind of runway…
The Dressed to Kilt fashion show in New York City is a hugely popular and successful night of charity and fun, celebrating the best of Scotland’s style and craftsmanship.
After a tumultuous year for all, the evening of July 24th is now confirmed to be a night of Scottish revival along the Gold Coast of New York State and beyond.
“Come join us and help us usher in the ‘New Roaring 20s’ where the original ‘Roaring 20s’ started, on the Great Gatsby Gold Coast of Long Island.”
The theme of 2021’s show will again be “Country Lifestyle Fashion”. This includes an exciting array of clothing for hunting, shooting, stalking, hiking, fishing, camping and country entertaining, including everything from Downton Abbey to the Dakotas.
And who in the world does outdoor pursuits better than us Scots?
The venue for the 2021 show is the Mill Neck Manor House. It is a majestic Tudor Revival mansion set on an 86 acre private estate overlooking the Long Island Sound. It was built in the early 1920s and it is one of the original Great Gatsby Gold Coast estates. The estate has been used for motion pictures and TV since the 1950s and corporations such as Ralph Lauren, Mercedes Benz, Macys, Modern Bride and Johnnie Walker Black have use the estate for commercials and photoshoots.
The Dressed to Kilt and Friends of Scotland organisations have announced this year’s show is set to be a true celebration.
Many are aware that we lost Sir Sean Connery in 2020, a friend and colleague of the event. Together with his family, Sir Sean will be honoured in this year’s show with the unveiling of a new Sir Sean Connery Tartan. The colours of the Tartan are said to represent the places that meant the most to Sir Sean, and we can’t wait to see it.
“After suffering a year from hell, we are all looking forward to having a cracking great time and seeing old friends once again and meeting new friends.”
For the first time ever the show will be live streamed around the world to friends and supporters. Tickets to view the event virtually can be purchased for £10 GBP at:
Attire is Summer Chic & Highland Couture. So no matter where is the world you attend, we hope you’ll join us to don your Mackenzie goods for a night of Scottish celebration. Slàinte Mhath!
